Nano Vitamin C: Water-Soluble + Fat-Soluble Vitamin C for Everyday Cellular Support

Your body cannot make its own vitamin C. Unlike most animals, humans depend on food and supplements for every milligram — every day. Yet vitamin C is one of the hardest-working nutrients you have. It supports normal immune function, it is required for collagen formation, and it is a front-line antioxidant that helps protect cells from oxidative stress.

Nano Vitamin C was formulated by Mitchell J. Ghen, D.O., Ph.D. and Irena Y. Ghen, MSN, APRN-BC to address a simple problem: ordinary vitamin C is easy to take but hard for the body to hold on to.

Why Ordinary Vitamin C Falls Short

Your gut absorbs vitamin C through transporters that fill up quickly. At modest intakes, most is absorbed. At larger single doses, the percentage absorbed drops and the kidneys excrete the excess within hours. That is why the milligrams on a label are not the same as the vitamin C that reaches your cells.

Standard vitamin C is also water-soluble only, while every cell in your body is surrounded by a membrane made of fats.

The Nano Difference: Two Forms Working Together

  • Ascorbic acid — the classic water-soluble form of vitamin C.
  • Ascorbyl palmitate — vitamin C bonded to palmitic acid, a fatty acid, creating a fat-soluble form of vitamin C.
  • Nano-sized particles — a proprietary micronization process reduces particles to under 100 nanometers, designed to support absorption and longer-lasting antioxidant support.

The Science Behind Ascorbyl Palmitate

Ascorbyl palmitate, sometimes called vitamin C ester, is made by bonding ascorbic acid to palmitic acid. A 2024 scientific review in the journal Process Biochemistry describes how this gives it lipophilic (fat-loving) properties, explains its wide use as an antioxidant, and examines encapsulation techniques used to protect and deliver it.

Read the research: Ascorbyl palmitate: A comprehensive review on its characteristics, synthesis, encapsulation and applications — Process Biochemistry, Vol. 142 (2024), pp. 68–80.

What Nano Vitamin C Supports*

  • Immune function — helps maintain normal immune system activity.
  • Collagen formation — vitamin C is a required cofactor for the enzymes that build stable collagen in skin, joints, blood vessels and gums.
  • Antioxidant defense — helps protect cells from oxidative stress and helps regenerate vitamin E.
  • Healthy aging — supports skin firmness and cellular resilience as collagen production naturally slows with age.
  • Iron absorption — helps your body absorb iron from plant foods.
  • Healthy stress response — the adrenal glands hold some of the body’s highest concentrations of vitamin C.

How to Take Nano Vitamin C

Each capsule provides 800 mg of vitamin C. Take 1 capsule 1–3 times daily with food, as needed, or as directed by your healthcare provider. If you take more than one, take them with different meals — smaller, split amounts are retained better than one large dose. Each bottle provides a 40–120 day supply.

Who It’s For

  • Adults focused on healthy aging, skin health and long-term vitality
  • Busy, high-stress lifestyles
  • Active people and anyone who doesn’t eat fresh fruits and vegetables daily
  • Anyone who wants a smarter vitamin C than a standard tablet

Physician-Formulated. Third-Party Tested.

Like every VIP HealthRx™ formula, Nano Vitamin C is developed using peer-reviewed research, made with high-quality ingredients, third-party tested and manufactured in a cGMP facility — backed by more than 60 years of combined clinical experience in root-cause, integrative medicine.

A Note from Dr. Mitch

“Vitamin C is one of the first nutrients I look at with patients, because the body can’t make it and stress uses it up. We combined a water-soluble and a fat-soluble form so you get more from every capsule. It’s a simple daily foundation for healthy aging.” — Mitchell J. Ghen, D.O., Ph.D.

Pairs Well With

  • Nano Quercetin — vitamin C and quercetin are a classic antioxidant pairing.*
  • Nano Curcumin — supports a healthy inflammatory response alongside vitamin C’s antioxidant defense.*
  • Super Antioxidant — resveratrol, quercetin, curcumin and vitamins C and E for broad antioxidant support.* Because it also contains vitamin C, count it toward your daily vitamin C total.

Nano Vitamin C FAQs

What is ascorbyl palmitate?

Ascorbyl palmitate is vitamin C attached to palmitic acid, a fatty acid. This makes it fat-soluble, unlike regular ascorbic acid, which dissolves only in water.

How is nano vitamin C different from regular vitamin C?

Regular vitamin C is a single water-soluble form. Nano Vitamin C combines water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamin C in nano-sized particles, designed for better absorption and longer-lasting antioxidant support.

How much vitamin C do adults need?

The U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance is 75 mg per day for women and 90 mg for men, with 35 mg more for people who smoke. The upper limit for adults from all sources is 2,000 mg per day. Each Nano Vitamin C capsule provides 800 mg, and the label directions are 1 capsule 1–3 times daily. Three capsules (2,400 mg) is above the 2,000 mg upper limit, so use that amount only with your healthcare provider’s guidance. Many people use more than the RDA for wellness support; talk with your healthcare provider about the right amount for you.

When is the best time to take it?

With food, which supports absorption. If you take more than one capsule a day, spread them across your meals.

Can I take it with my other VIP HealthRx™ supplements?

Yes, Nano Vitamin C fits easily into most supplement routines. If you take prescription medications, check with your healthcare provider first.

Is Nano Vitamin C vegan and allergen-free?

It comes in vegetarian capsules, is non-GMO and vegan friendly, and contains no soy, corn, yeast, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nuts. Other ingredients: vegetable capsule and silica.

Is there anyone who should talk to a doctor first?

Yes. If you are pregnant or nursing, have a history of kidney stones, have an iron-storage condition, or take prescription medications, consult your healthcare provider before use.
